I am back today with another beauty brand review, but this brand is one like no other!
On a mission to reimagine what truly effective skincare could look like, Liz Whitman founded Exponent Beauty, the first skincare system that fully preserves active ingredients for peak effectiveness.
Most skincare products have an expiration date that expires well before their labeled date, Exponent, on the other hand, uses a dosing method, which allows the serum to be truly effective each time it’s applied to the skin.
In Episode 137, Lee sat down with Liz to learn more about her journey to becoming the Founder and CEO of Exponent Beauty. Liz also spoke about what it was like growing up in New York City as an only child, building an apparel business with a friend before earning her MBA, working for American Express and Beauty Bar, to building her second startup Manicube, which The Red Door by Elizabeth Arden acquired, to having an aha moment that inspired her to reimagine what truly effective skincare could look like.
If you want to learn more of the aha moments behind the brand, Entrepreneurship and Efficacy is a great episode to tune in to!
Now that we’ve covered the basics, I think it’s safe to get into all the details about Exponent. The system they’ve created comes with a refillable base, refillable powder dispenser, quadruple hyaluronic acid hydrator, and active power refills. The best way to start using Exponent is by purchasing a Starting System. Each system is priced at $166.00 and you choose based on which serum you’d like. When choosing a serum, you can choose one of their active powder refills.
Having the variety of five different active powders is great, especially when you’re using a refillable system like Exponent because it gives you the ability to use one in the morning and a different one at night.
Their five powders are:
Each powder refill is priced at $88 and they all fit and work together perfectly, truly a great system!
It can be a little tricky to explain the assembly process, and luckily for everyone, they’ve created a short video that shows how it works. If I'm being honest, I should have watched it a few times because I realized after the first few uses that I wasn’t getting a full dose, so be sure to check that yourself!
I am currently using the Brightening Boost Vitamin C and it’s my favorite thing to apply after I cleanse my face in the morning! I will definitely be going back to order more, as well as picking up some of the Calm Revival Green Tea Resveratrol, especially with all the cold weather coming soon.
Liz did let us know at the end of her interview that she has some exciting things planned and new products coming in the new year, so I highly recommend going to check out Exponent to be on the lookout for these new items, I know I will!
